The lore
Garnet takes its name from the pomegranate seed, and it has been buried with travelers and lovers since the Bronze Age — the stone of vitality carried into dark places. Medieval lore held that garnet lit from within; crusaders set it in shields and clasps. Its symbol is the banked ember: not the blaze, but the fire that survives the night and relights the hearth.
Working with it
Reach for garnet when the fire is low but must not go out — long commitments, devotion under strain, energy rebuilt after depletion. Traditionally worn near the root register or on the ring finger, the finger of vows.
Care & keeping
Sturdy in daily wear; rinse and dry. Charge it at the hearth register of your home — near the stove, the fireplace, the place where warmth is made — rather than in harsh sun.
