The lore
Pietersite is brecciated tiger eye — a stone shattered and re-fused by the earth, its chatoyant fibers swirling like storm cloud lit from inside. Discovered only in 1962, its working lore formed fast and consistently: the tempest stone, keyed to the moment the storm breaks and the air goes clean. It stands for clarity that arrives suddenly, insight with weather in it.
Working with it
Reach for pietersite when you need the storm to finally break — decisions long postponed, truths circling unsaid, creative logjams. It suits the third-eye register: wear it high (pendant, or ring on the index) and let it accompany journaling or walking when thoughts need to reorganize.
Care & keeping
Cleansing lore leans to wind and storm: an open windowsill on a blustery day suits it better than salt or sun. Its fibrous polish scratches — keep it from harder stones.
