The lore
Quartz is the workhorse of every crystal tradition — the amplifier, the stone that takes a program and holds it. Its family carries the variations: clear quartz as the blank conductor; smoky quartz as the shadow-anchor, traditionally grounding what is too charged; citrine as sun caught in stone, the merchant's talisman of increase and morning. One lattice, three temperaments.
Working with it
Match the variant to the season: clear for intention-setting (it is the easiest stone to program — hold, breathe, state the intention plainly); smoky for discharge after heavy days; citrine for beginnings, mornings, and money work done honestly. Quartz rewards specificity — vague intentions come back vague.
Care & keeping
Quartz is hard and tolerant: water, sun (brief for citrine — it can fade), smoke, salt. Tradition says to clear it between programs — one intention at a time.
