The lore

Tiger eye's banded shimmer — crocidolite fibers replaced by quartz — moves as you move, and the old lore follows the optics: the stone that watches. Roman soldiers carried it engraved for protection in battle; broader tradition assigns it the tiger's virtues — courage that stalks rather than lunges, will with patience braided in. Blue tiger eye (hawk's eye) lifts the same watchfulness into cooler, higher air.

Working with it

A stone for the long approach: goals that need months, confrontations that need timing, confidence that must not curdle into recklessness. Traditionally worn on the projecting hand or at the solar plexus. Good companion for training and practice streaks.

Care & keeping

Durable and sun-tolerant — one of the few stones tradition happily charges in morning light. Rinse, dry, wear. Its bands reward a monthly minute of simply looking: the stone as attention exercise.
