Meaning
Latin for remember that you will die: a Stoic and later Christian practice of keeping death in view so the day is spent well. Seneca and Marcus Aurelius wrote it as discipline; medieval and Victorian art wore it as skulls, hourglasses, and wilting flowers. It is not morbid. It is the oldest cure for wasting time.
Worn
